“Struck By Lightning” is set to premiere at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival! The Tribeca Film Festival runs from April 19 through April 28 in New York.
The first trailer for indie comedy Struck by Lightning, written by and starring Golden Globe winning Glee star Chris Colfer, directed by Brian Dannelly of Saved!, has arrived!
The film is about a high school kid who recounts the way he blackmailed his classmates into contributing to his literary magazine. The cast includes Sarah Hyland, Dermot Mulroney, Christina Hendricks, Rebel Wilson and Allison Janney.
Excellent news for all fans of Glee and Modern Family (and really, who isn’t at this point?): Sarah Hyland (Haley Dunphy) has joined the cast of Chris Colfer’s (Kurt Hummel on Glee) first film: Struck by Lightning, which he also wrote and directed.
“I play Claire, the head cheerleader,” Sarah told E!. “She does not like Chris’ character very much…But I’m playing a cheerleader. What else are cheerleaders? They’re mean!”
It sounds like Sarah’s character in the movie isn’t all that different from her character on Modern Family — a little bitchy, the “hot girl” in high school, and dismissive of the unpopular kids.
But we’re sure filming Chris’ movie is way more fun: Sarah’s boyfriend,, Matt Prokop, plays a stoner who will “roll a joint or two,” he says, in the film. We can’t wait!
Watch an all-new Modern Family on Wednesday, February 8 at 9pm ET/PT on ABC.
From inexperienced teens to couples battling fertility issues, Josh Stolberg’s “Conception” follows nine couples as they embark on the road to parenthood.
From the trailer, it seems the ensemble cast — full of TV stars including “American Horror Story’s” Connie Britton, “Modern Family’s” Julie Bowen and Sarah Hyland, and “The League’s” Jason Mantzoukas — is full of awkward sex and little kids making remarks about knowing where babies come from.
An ensemble cast worked with Richard Curtis’ “Love Actually” and flopped with Garry Marshall’s “Valentine’s Day” and “New Year’s Eve,” but regardless of the character development and overall quality of the film, the “Conception” cast will make it February’s must-see for anyone looking for a star-studded flick.
“Conception” hits On Demand and iTunes on February 24th.

Disney Channel’s latest original movie Geek Charming will debut Friday, Nov. 11 at 8/7c, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
Based on the eponymous book, the film stars Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland as Dylan, a snobby popular high school junior who agrees to become the subject of a documentary being made by Josh, (Matt Prokop) the school’s film geek. As the cameras roll, Josh and Dylan begin to gain new perspective on each other.
Leading into the premiere, Disney Channel will be celebrating “Geek Week” by airing movies and certain episodes of its series that celebrate “geekdom.” Hyland and Prokop will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie during interstitials airing Monday through Thursday, Nov. 7-10 from 7:30/6:30c to 10/9c.
The first promo trailer for “Geek Charming” has just been released! There isn’t an official air date, but I’ll be sure to post it once its announced.
